The review has appeared as topical series "NASELENIE" [Population] published by the Coordination Council on Demography at the BAS over the period 1983-1989. Its direct successor was the NASELENIE review published by the Institute of demography at the BAS over the period 1990-2002. The review has been published by the Centre for population studies at the BAS since 2003.
The topical embracement of the NASELENIE review is performed to assure the attainment of the complex approach in the demographic development presentation. Papers concerning population evolution and reproduction are published in the review. Articles on demographic processes and structures, demographic behaviour of individuals and population subgroups are englobed in the review as well. Studies on population connected to the impacts of economic, social, medical, psychological, historical, etc. factors on the demographic evolution are included in the review. That is why the NASELENIE review is open to authors from different scientific fields whose researches are related to demographic problems studies.
Theoretical studies, scientific analyses of demographic and sociological enquiries, historical analysis, national and international information, reviews, interviews, etc., find place in the review.
